PERALIKATUMA
Peralikatuma is an interesting game played in Ceylon. Each player has 23 pieces which are placed on the board as shown above to begin play.
Two players play with the game objective to be to capture all the opponents pieces.
To Play:
The game is played by one’s moving a piece from it’s place on the board to an empty place adjacent to it. When a player’s piece meets an opponents piece, it may jump over it if the space beyond is vacant. The opponent’s piece is the captured and removed from the board. Multiple jumps are allowed in a single move and can include a change in direction. When one player has the opportunity to jump an opponents piece and fails to do so, their piece is considered captured and removed from the board by the opponent. A player can win the game by capturing all of his opponents pieces or by blocking them so that the opponent cannot move. If neither player can move the game ends in a draw.
